     What's The Dish is a comprehensive listing of every restaurant and eatery on Nantucket Island. Unlike any other website or publication, we provide up-to-date menus and helpful information in order to make your dining choices easier.

About What’s The Dish

Our mission here at WTD is simple: to provide visitors and residents of Nantucket a totally complete listing of every restaurant and eatery on the Island and its up to date menu. There are over ninety places a person can go to eat or drink on the island, and up until now, the only way to find information about restaurants and their menus was limited to a few websites or a single, limited production magazine in which only a few select restaurants are listed. Nowhere could you find a source that listed every restaurant on the island and its up to date menu. Now that problem is solved.

The inspiration to create this service occurred when my brother and his fiancé came to Nantucket last August for their vacation. Wanting to go out to a special dinner, they understandably wanted to research and choose just the right place. Using the only research tool available at the time—a free magazine that lists only a select amount of restaurants and their menus, they made their decision based on a few dishes that they thought sounded tasty. Well low and behold; when they went to the restaurant of their choice, the dish they so eagerly desired was not on the menu. In fact, it had been a dish that was featured in the spring, and had been off the menu for months.

So I thought it would only be fair to provide up to date and complete information on all the restaurants so people could make informed decisions based off accurate information.

About Me:

I am a resident of Nantucket and have been coming to the island every year of my life since I was six months old. Since I was 14 I have been working in Nantucket’s high demand and top quality food industry, starting at the juice bar and now spending the last seven years working with the Island’s premier caterer and at another popular restaurant on the wharf. I have now been a part of the Nantucket food scene for over 15 years now.
